Controller

 

to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent and the preferred location is in Bermeo, Spain.

 

What you will be doing

 

Wärtsilä Global Operative Control Centre (GOCC) is currently seeking a new Controller to join our team of controlling professionals. GOCC is a virtual organization responsible for operative controlling across all revenue streams and product lines within Wärtsilä. We are specifically looking for a GOCC Controller to join our Capacity Costs and Investment team. 
You will have the opportunity to work with professionals from different locations around the world, support in Capacity Costs and Investment Controlling, focusing on European and African network companies and be involved in improving controlling processes, learning, and deploying robotics and other modern controlling tools, and building our GOCC community globally.

 

As Controller, your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Analyse and monitor the cost center structure and spending using Wärtsilä processes and tools.
  • Perform period end closing tasks and collaborate with different stakeholders in the organization.
  • Act as an expert in your area of expertise, train others, and actively seek process and tool improvements.
  • Challenge conventions and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Maintain cost center master data.
  • Allocate costs and intra-group fees to business units.
  • Calculate technical service cost rates.
  • Monitor and analyse data quality related to capacity costs and investments.
  • Process investment requests in accordance with Wärtsilä Accounting Manual.
  • Maintain and validate Asset Master data and Asset register.
  • Support stakeholders, ask questions to understand and improve processes.
  • Provide standard business reporting to stakeholders on department costs and investments.
  • Perform internal control tasks for Capacity Costs and Investments.
  • Support testing activities in SAP and other tools.
  • Support internal and external audits of the companies.

 

You will shine in this role, when you have: OR To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

 

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. Degree, preferably in Finance and Accounting.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Excellent SAP S4 skills, especially in FICO module.
  • Good financial knowledge, reporting, and analysing skills, such as Cost and Investment Management and Balance Sheet analysis.
  • Proficiency in other reporting tools such as Qlikview and Power BI.
  • Ability to work efficiently in virtual teams and confidently communicate across teams, functions, and levels within the organization.
  • Ability to explain complex issues to stakeholders.
  • Development mindset with a proactive can-do attitude and willingness to challenge.
